My Story

Gisèle. Founder of Giwax Boutique.

My customers call me "auntie". And honestly, I'm perfectly happy with that.

Because that's exactly what I want to be for them, not a cold brand behind a screen, not an algorithm suggesting items. Someone close. Someone who knows fabrics, who knows what a beautiful piece can do for a woman when she puts it on in the morning.

African prints, I know them well.

Not just since Giwax opened. Always. These colors, these patterns, these textures | wax, batik, adire, artisanal fabrics | I grew up with them. I know how to recognize them, to read them, to feel when a piece is really well made and when it's not.

It's not just business. It's a small knowledge passed down, cultivated, and now shared with you.

A family affair: truly.

Giwax is me. But not just me.

Erica, my daughter, takes care of everything you see on social media, photos, stories, strategy, DMs she answers with as much care as if they were her own. Allan, my son, ensures that your orders arrive on time and in the best condition.

We don't work for a brand. We work for you.

Why unique pieces?

Because, like the unique creatures we are, I like the idea of offering unique pieces because each of my nieces, which you are, must shine and stand out. Has it ever happened to you to see two women with the same outfit in the same place or event? That awkwardness in their eyes. That forced smile. Do you see them?

A woman who has taken the trouble to choose, to buy, to dress for an occasion, deserves to be the only one. Not in an exclusive or elitist sense. In the simplest sense: what you wear is yours. Truly.

Each Giwax piece is personally selected by me. Only one available. Once it's gone, it's gone.

What I look for for you in each selection.

Not necessarily the most expensive piece. Not the trendiest. The piece that will do something, that will change a silhouette, brighten a complexion, make you want to walk differently.

I refuse pieces I wouldn't wear myself. I refuse poorly made prints, lazy cuts, I avoid fabrics that don't last as much as possible. What you receive is what I would have kept.

Welcome to the Giwax family. 💙

Auntie is here.

Unique like you. 💙
